Hitachi Solutions named Microsoft Partner of the Year Award Winners for the 17th year in a row

The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognises Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based solutions during the past year. This year we are delighted to have been recognised in 6 categories! Our Alliance Marketing Manager Izzy Johnson takes a look at the UK government award in which we were named a finalist.

The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognises Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based solutions during the past year. Awards were classified in various categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 4,400 submitted nominations from more than 100 countries worldwide and announced at Inspire earlier this month.

This year we are delighted to have been recognised in 6 categories, including winning the Dynamics 365 Field Service category and being named a finalist for our work helping the UK Government over the past year.

“We can only achieve our mission to empower every member of society by combining expertise and skills with partners who share our desire to put people and communities at the heart of everything we do. Hitachi Solutions does just that. My heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all involved” remarked Hugh Eaton, Microsoft’s Vice President, Worldwide Government.

Our COVID-19 Response Hub for Government utilises Microsoft Business Applications, the Power Platform and Azure. It has and continues to enable local councils and Government departments to protect their citizens and respond to the challenges posed by COVID-19. We have partnered with 47 councils and protected 4 million vulnerable citizens.

The Microsoft and Hitachi Solutions teams collaborated during the onset of the pandemic, designing, and delivering a prototype solution for Westminster City Council in just 2 days.

We supported 100,000 vulnerable citizens at the largest local authority in Europe, Birmingham City Council.

Phillip Degg, Head of Business Solutions at Birmingham City Council observed “When I look back over the past few months, I feel that as an authority, we have achieved a lot. We’ve helped an awful lot of our vulnerable citizens, everything from ensuring safe returns to the office to the delivery of essential supplies. This has been achieved through strong teamwork, Hitachi Solutions has played a key part in helping us, their work has made a huge difference to our staff and citizens from a situation none of us could have predicted.”

You can watch the video case study which explores how we helped Birmingham City Council support their 1 million citizens here.

Dionne Lowndes, Chief Digital Officer at Southwark Council described how „Our pain point was around agility, we needed to deliver at speed a technology solution that gave us a single view of our vulnerable residents extremely quickly. Hitachi Solutions empowered our workforce to solve the challenges posed by COVID-19 within Southwark Council extremely quickly.“

A similar example of where our COVID-19 response hub has driven digital transformation success can be seen at Norfolk County Council. Having one system in place, with one source of data or “one version of the truth” as their Chief Digital Officer, Geoff Connell described, has enabled the council to spend “less time with the data and more time looking after their people”.

The behavioural shift has been driven by the Council’s technological advancement and provides them exciting opportunities for further innovation with us and Microsoft in the future. You can watch the video case study here.

No individual organisation has worked with more local authorities and Central Government departments in the last 12 months.

At the Department of Health and Social Care, our 3,200-seat implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 continued to a successful go-live throughout the pandemic, despite huge pressures.

Bob Armstrong, CIO at the Department of Health and Social Care commented, “The people at Hitachi Solutions made the project successful. Their excellence, dedication to customer success, and attention to detail were exactly what we needed. To migrate 30 million records from on-premise to Dynamics 365, to reconcile and to keep going virtually is an astounding achievement.” Find out more by watching our video case study featuring Bob here.

The other categories we have been recognised in this year’s Partner of the Year Awards include Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service and Dynamics 365 Marketing. This is the 17th year we’ve been recognised as award winners by Microsoft.
