Returning to the Hitachi Solutions family

Hitachi Solutions’ new Industry Director for Retail looks forward to the future.

I’m writing this one week into my new role as Industry Director for Retail and it’s certainly been a case of hitting the ground running!

As some of you may know, I’m returning to the Hitachi Solutions family after 18 months working with a partner organisation, and it’s really like coming home. It’s such a pleasure to work with a group of highly motivated and competent individuals — their depth of industry and product knowledge is impressive.

I’m really excited about the challenges ahead. Retail typifies an industry that is going through extreme change. My team and the wider Hitachi Solutions family are in an ideal position to support retailers as they respond to evolving consumer buying patterns, re-imagining the role of bricks ’n’ mortar premises through to the adoption of transformational operating models with dramatically increased levels of automation.

Our recent acquisition of German systems integrator, Hitachi Solutions, brings fresh opportunities too, and I’ll be working on bringing their experience and IP to the pan European marketplace to further broaden and strengthen our portfolio.

It’s a pivotal time for retail as it searches for operating models that will secure a successful future. I’m looking forward to being a part of the journey, and to sharing my thoughts with you along the way.
